Steelgrass Recording Studio is a fully equipped, professional state-of-the-art recording studio, designed by Stephen Webber, Professor of Music Production and Engineering at Berklee College of Music. Housed in a specially constructed air-conditioned building, Steelgrass is the only completely sound-insulated studio on Kauai. We run the latest version of ProTools HD3 on an Apple G5, with a variety of outboard components and a wide selection of microphones (see below for a complete gear list). Steelgrass Recording Studio is specially equipped for voice-over and ADR. In addition to top-quality professional digital recording equipment, the studio features acoustically ideal voice-over isolation rooms, as well as the microphones that recording professionals prefer, including the Neumann U-87. We provide direct-to-the-timeline connections between digital audio systems anywhere in the world, allowing ISDN-equivalent, real-time, broadcast-quality audio.
